AAW is one of the premiere independent wrestling companies in the midwest. It is the place where Tyler Black began his rise to prominence. Since changing owners and bookers in 2005, AAW has slowly come up the ranks. An extended stay by the Motor City Machine Guns in 2007 lent a great deal of credibility for AAW. An extended heavyweight title reign by Jerry Lynn did as well. Thanks to Tyler Black’s huge success across the rest of the indies, a relationship with Dragon Gate USA, and boasting some of the most underrated workers on the indy scene AAW should be considered one of the fastest rising independent wrestling companies in the United States.
